Isabel Cristina Fregoso Centeno

Isabe Cristina Fregoso Centeno nació en Yucatán. Estudió Ciencias de la Comunicación en el ITESO; Dirección Cinematográfica en el Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos de la UNAM y actualmente la Maestría en Gestión y Desarrollo Cultural en el Centro Universitario de Arte Arquitectura y Diseño de la U de G. Sus documentales El Aliento de Dios y Chenalhó el corazón de los Altos se han exhibidos en salas de cine, festivales internacionales y en la TV Latinoamericana. Ha sido becada y apoyada por CONACULTA, IMCINE, UNESCO y la Fundación Rockefeller. Al frente de Cinefusion, productora de cine de la Universidad de Guadalajara del 2005-2011 coprodujo varios corto y largometrajes, entre ellos Batalla en el Cielo, Desierto Adentro. También ha producido comerciales para la TV, realizado diversos proyectos y programas como CineLab_35mm y CineChido; y participado como jurado en varios festivales y convocatorias de la industria fílmica internacional.

In 1929, during the Cristeros War, Ranulfo, Captain of the Cristero Army holds a federal soldier prisoner, whom he has tortured. He threatens him while carving a wood chip into the form of a cross.At a different moment, Eugenio, captain of the Federal Army, has a scoffing attitude at the faith of a group of scared, beaten and hand tied Cristero peasants who pray, in a week but undaunted position. The captain challenges them to produce a miracle that would make them free.The short film presents a rather unexposed passage of our history, a portrait of the post revolutionary period, from a critical and sensitive perspective of the conditions and practices of the power in those days; an example of the drama and horror of war, ignorance and vengeance.
